Getting Started on Fedora Core 5
Finally got going on Fedora Core 5 and now I'm stuck once more, I can't seem to get gonig with the multi media, I have installed MPlayer, RealPlayer, Totem, xime & Audio player and can't get my DVD movies to play? Message says; "You do not have decoder installed to handle this file" WOW! Linux is harder than I thought, Need help once more. Thanks

even though their install in my applications they wont run? I can play my cd disk's with Totem, but can't get any DVD videos or RealPlayer plugins on the web, Also can't play any DVD videos with MPlayer.:(

But it's not running in Firefox? I really need help badly, I almost feel like giving up. fvs
Running a static configuration is a pain, my feelings are that if you can't get DHCP working then you have bigger problems. Is there any particular reason you're using Fedora? Around here our favorite distros are Gentoo, Debian, and Ubuntu in increasing order of newbie-friendliness.

Static was suggested to me because of the problems DHCP couldn't work.
I choose fedora 5 core because I thought it was user friendly, How is Gento?
