SM T-Shirts?

I just had a pretty good idea(for me at least)

I think we should get sm t-shirts. I think it'd be pretty cool, what does everyone else think, because there would have to be a fairly large interest in order to get them.

Just a thought:scratch:

I'm pretty sure that we could do this at cafe press for a reasonable price. If we decide that there is enough interest, I'd like to do an artwork "competition" or something of the sort and spearhead this.

We should probably also hold a vote of what color is preferred if we do this.

I think it is a good idea, even though im too well know around here yet, but im working on it. You might need to wait to see what the new name of the sight might be first. If they still changing it that is. Have not seen that thread in a while.

Dude, that was a joke (april fools) but it's cool, a lot of people were pretty well into believing it, even me.

I've been looking at cafe press, and they don't have a minimum order as far as I know, so even if we only had 5-10 people want one, I think we could still do it. But I'm pretty sure this will generate some interest, as well as get the name out.

I wanted to get on cafepress and start the design to see what we could do for a given price, but either their server is borking, or their site doesnt like opera. Im gonna try it with ie and see what happens.

Yeh, it must be borking, tried it on 2 different computers and 3 different bowsers.

Yeh, I made an account on cafepress so that I could get a concept of what I would be able to do image wise, but right when I click on the link to allow me to customize a certain shirt, the server times out. im gonna shoot them an email and see whats up.

and the thing that I am liking abour cafepress is that we could do mugs, bumperstickers, and what have you. and im pretty sure that there is no setup fee or minimum order.:Rocker:

Well... We had some shirts from Kingfish. Nice polo's with embroidered SM Logo. I'm in the final stages of the first run of Team #93 Short-Media Folding T-shirts.

As for café press... if we're doing silk screen t-shirts... my guy can REALLY stomp their prices....

If Brian and Dan want to OK another t-shirt design, I'm cool with that...

Cafe Press is hugely overpriced for the end user. I have shirts there for newbuddhist.com and I can only mark them up a dollar or so because the base price is so high. I would feel bad charging people like $50 for a sweatshirt or something :-/

The folding T-shirts should be under $15 WITH shipping and a decent "donation" towards the Team Funds built in!!!!

I wasnt even going to mark them up, I was just thinking about getting the t-shirts to the members here for as cheap as possible, but also having the abiltiy to get whatever (almost) article we want and even mugs and hats.

I've looked at some other sites, and either they require a setup fee, a minimum order, or some have both. Not to mention most sites charge for the more colors you use. and it didnt turn out to be much cheaper. If there is a better site out there, then I'm all for it, the reason I'm in love with cafe press right now is that I can get an image, and get it on a shirt.

And Short-Media is aside SMx is it not? not to mention Short-Media is still non profit to my knowledge, so we could not accept any "donations" or "profits" on the shirts.

Oh, I hope so..... The company I'm working with is fairly small so one guy does the artwork, the silkscreen design, and the setup... after that, they can crank out tons of shirts fast.

Right now, the final shirt-designs and demo screening is being done. After that it's press time!!!

I use cafepress for some small projects (shirts and mugs and stuff for games that I'm GMing, and for my website).

I never mark anything on Cafepress up above the minimum price. I don't care about making anything from it, it is just a free easy way to offer shirts and stuff. The price is great if you don't mark it up ($9 for a simple T-shirt)

Also, their other stuff isn't too bad ($4 for a logoed coaster, for example), and that stuff is more interesting anyway. The most popular item from the Shadow Era 2 site (cafepress.com/shadowera) was The Mousepad of the Known World, cause it gave the players an easy to find copy of the game map.

(and by 'most popular', I mean that three of my six players bought one.)

The idea of coffee mugs, coasters, and such is being discussed by the staff.... well it was mentioned at least. We're working on some things to make you all feel a part of the site.

We did have shirts. I have two but they're not LAN shirts, they're S-M shirts. I wear them for special occasions, going to Micro Direct, birthdays, weddings etc.

I think he still has the machines and if you're nice to him... PM and he might make one for you. It will be more than before but he might do it... Worth a try.
