AIM Problem

I am very new to viruses as I've always kept clean. I was tired and on AIM two nights ago at 12 in the morning and one of my contacts says, "hey, can you tell me if this is good enough for a website?" he owns websites so i said sure, i think the end of the url was something like .scr which im aware is a screensaver file. however, when i opened it after downloading, avg popped up saying virus detected and i clicked heal. i thought everything was ok until today, as i checked my usual once a week scan. i had a little look in the virus vault, and there to my disgust, is the file in there and it said you cannot heal it in the information. is AVG holding this virus prisoner to help or what do you recommend i do from here, im stuck

the file in the virus vault is apparantly in C:\WINDOWS\mc-110-12-0000230.exe, i went view all files and folders and its not there. thats why im asking is AVG locking it up?

    Mickey,

Can you please be more specific. In the avg event logs the name of the specific virus as avg identifies it should be there. post that here along with any othe info you may feel necessary. Let us know if you have Hijackthis, Spybot S&D, and Adaware SE, for starters.

    Be well,
