Well as most of you know my garage sale has been getting ssmaller. By having my garage sale I eliminated 2 folding PC's that were single core AMD chips. But in return I have purchased a brand spanking new HP Pavillion dv8000t. I spared no exspense on this bad boy as it is fully loaded :) with the new Intel Duo Dual Core :)

Now... now.. I know my love for AMD will stay but they just don't have a Notebook Chip that will give the same performance as the Duo... so for notebooks I guess I will say go Intel :)

Specs:

Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Media Center Edition
Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo processor T2600 (2.16 GHz)
17.0" WSXGA+ BrightView Widescreen (1680x1050)
256MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7400
2.0GB OCZ DDR2 SDRAM (2x1024MB)
160GB 5400 RPM SATA Dual Hard Drive (80 GB x 2)
DVD+/-RW/R CD-RW Combo w/Double Layer
Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network w/Bluetooth
8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
6-1 Card reader
HP Sport Backpack

and a ton of misc other items....

yeah but reading the reviews it has the best Notebook CPU on the market... without jumping into desktop style CPU's!

The main question is how doe sit game? if it isn't a good gamer it might be finding its way back to HP :)

I am AMD all the way but I have a P-M in my lappy. AMD just doesnt have it in the notebook segment yet, at least compared to Intel.

I sold 6 of my home towers to afford this baby... "took a chunk out of my Folding Farm" I spent no new cash "as my wife calls it" as I recycled 4 old comps and 2 new towers parted out hence the Sledgehammer70 garage sale. once I was able to afford the Lappy I got it, the rest of the cash made from the sale has gone towards a plane ticket to SM LAN :) but now I have a good gaming Lappy for the LAN :) and thanks to you and the SM community a Flight to the LAN. The rest of the money I raised paid for my flight home :)

I have heard with laptops like these you can increase the performance by making the games run off an external Hard drive. I was thinking of loading my mini External HD with every game I own and use that at the LAN and see if it does in crease performance.

This could be a good test to do for a review... I might jump on that once i finish my GC water cooling article...
