Windows media centre edition plugins
I've only just discovered this, but apparently windows media centre edition is fairly open to third party plugins and applications. There's a nice list of lots of plugins Here (thegreenbutton.com) and most of them appear to be free.
I'm going to be testing a couple of them in the next few days. First up is the MyWebTV plugin, which as the name suggests gives you an easy interface for free web tv channels in media centre.
