it seems i tried to delete a virus from regedit on my own and deleted an important file on accident, causing my windows to no longer load. . .

causing this message to come up wen i turn on the computer:

missing or corrupt file: windows\system32\config\system

and wont let me get on windows. . .

im not using a diff hard drive and i have the other one as a slave.

i wanted to know how i can fix this problem and be able to use my windows again

also, another issue is that i dont have the original XP cd or any other Xp cd . . . so i was wondering if there is a way to fix this issue without it???

This really should be handled in the Windows forum but I'll try to help you. Reboot the PC. As the PC is starting begin tapping the F8 key. Keep tapping the F8 key until the advanced boot options menu appears. It will be a black screen with many choices. Scroll with the arrow keys to last known good configuration that worked, then press enter. As long as system restore wasn't turned off or affected in some way your PC should be able to restore from the last restore point that was made. If this doesn't work we'll move your post back to the Windows forum and I'll get a message off to one of the moderators there to help you. Good Luck!
