Newbie help question

Hi there,
I'm trying to start up an asp file on my local computer (win XP prof) that used to work but hasn't been used in a while. (I can't get any other asp files to load either.)
When trying to load it in the browser http://localhost/directory/file.asp, I get the error "C:\WINDOWS\System32\dllhost.exe The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction...."
Am I forgetting something, or has something become corrupted? I did try cleaning up my system with Ad-Aware and also downloaded Hijack. I can send that if it would be helpful.
Thanks,
Jeanie

I googled your error message. and the only thing i could could come up with that remotely resembled your problem was at this link

    http://computing.net/windowsxp/wwwboard/forum/13886.html

It says that your command.com file might be an old version. If you do find that true, make sure you have a backup copy of the file, cause i don't have a clue what it would acutally do if its wrong.
    Hope this is somewhat helpful.
