Missing \windows\system32\config\system & Cannot boot from CDROM

edited April 2006 in Hardware
OK, got to get my computer up and running tonight so i can get info for my interview TOMORROW!!! any help is greatly appreciated

i have a dell 8400, OEM install of winXP

I cannot reboot, it says \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM\ missing or corrupt. It will not let me boot from CDROM, i get an error that it is not found.

I have searched a few fixes but ther are for non-OEM installed version of XP. is there a fix for an OEM install??

OEM shouldn't be any different to a normal install, they just blag a few logos in here and there.
