Dell XPS Core Due Laptops = Expensive $$$

I'm not sure if any of you have seen my other posts asking about when dell was going to release the new XPS laptops with the core duo cpu's, but they finally did. Well thats bad news for me because the cheapest one starts at $2600 and I dont even have close to enough :mean: . So now I have to start looking at other notebooks that might be decent for gaming but cost less than $2000. The dell E1705 and 1505 offer x1400 vid cards but those things suck, I'd prefer to have at least a 6800. What other companies allow you to customize laptops on their website and offer upgradeable videocards. (other than alienware, falcon, voodoo)

Check out the new vaio's, they have a 13.3" WXGA widescreen LCD with XBRITE technology (1280 x 800), but its incredibly thin and light weight. It even has one of those finger scanning things for passwords too. Its the t2400 core duo, 1 gig PC2-4200 DDR2, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 256mb, 100 gig hd, and dvd burner for $2000. You should be able to do some gaming with it.

powernotebooks.com has a core duo, but the graphics suck right now, they should have something better soon from my understanding. I love my 2:17 I got from them, only an x700 mobility, but I can play all my games just fine :) and it's only $1800, check out my sig for the link to what I got with it.

The HP option isn't really good at all..can't even show true HD material with that screen. The 7400 card is really, really bad compared to the 7900 series. Both above lappys are well overpriced though. Toshiba P105-S921 is in between and should suit tmh88 well.

Wow thank god, I like dell again! Theyre now offering the 7800GO in the
E1705 dual core notebooks. Yea its not as good as the 7900GTX, but it sure beats the hell out of my current card(x800xl) , and well anythings better than integrated.

keep your eye out for deals on forums like SlickDeals and FatWallet. You can find some really good Dell laptop deals that involve stacking coupons for more than 40% off the regular price.
