Opty 170...my next chip!
OMG!!! Thats all I can say really.
I built a nice gaming rig for my woman today, and it was my first opty install. I cannot believe how awesome these chips are! I've OC'd it to 2.6 1.5v on air and its running 30C idle. This is also with the stock heatpipe heatsink (best stock HSF I have ever seen) and a larger 80mm fan I replaced the stock fan with.
I will probably take it up to 2.7, but I'm not sure yet. I put my old pair of 7800GTX's (OC'd to 500/1310) in there with 2 gigs of OCZ plat rev2 also. She is a Game Art major at Ft Laurderdale Art Inst and is going to be using this rig for alot of 3D studio max and Photoshop, so I figured a dual core would be perfect for her.
I am going to get me one of these opty 170 denmarks. After seeing how well it does...omg I want one NOW! I'm using a 4000+ I have OC'd to 2.6, so its like having 2 of those.

And that is when you have passed the point of no return.
Keep an eye on the CPU temperature, and following up on the problems that goes right along the path with overclocking.
Keep the Voltage and temp low, and your CPU will not fry.
