Playing DVD Movies On Treo 650 Smartphone @ Legit Reviews

Do you ever look at your phone and wonder why you spent so much money on a phone with a million features, but only use a few of them? This author had one of those evenings the other night with his Treo 650 and decided he'd figure out how to play DVD movies on it.
Our DVD Encoding experience ended up working and we were able to play DVD movies on our Treo 650, but it did take two days to figure everything out. The color is a tad washed out, but you wouldn't know it unless the two images were side-by-side. The Picture Quality was excellent even at the medium quality setting. When it came to audio, the speaker on the Treo 650 wasn't loud enough, but plugging in a pair of head phones can this problem...

    I did this with my 650, only I used VirtualDub to downmix the files (which is a free app). A full length, 1.5 hour movie ran me about 250 megs. Those movies plus a 2 GB card was pretty much my method for survival during the two 5-hour car trips my family had taken a couple weeks ago.
