Making a forward-looking hardware choice to get ready for Windows Vista
Windows Vista is now slated to be released in the first half of 2007 instead of 2006. Since people like to keep computers for 3 or 4 years, it’s kind of important (if they want to run Vista) that they buy a machine that can run Vista well if they purchase one this year.

They fail to mention that you're probably going to want a Fritz chip (TPM module) in whatever motherboard or PC you choose or you may find yourself unable to use some softwares.

n/m, ill keep xp then, although, im looking at transitioning all of my computers to linux. I'm at the point where i say **** windows and all the big companies, tcpa is a bunch of bs, that has to be illegal in so many ways, oh wait, they brainwashed a group of senators to write a bill making it legal, the president has to veto that.

Why are manufactures in on this, does the game/music.movie industry have that much poewr over them. If i was the president...oh would those 3 industries be in for a hurting, and so would this tcpa group. I say all the manufactures and software developers get up and go to another country and let M$ and intel have at it. Although there are some 170 companies in on it this time, Im really surprised amd is doing it, since they denounced the last "lock down" technology. they must have caved.

I've been living a 100% Linux world for the past few months and I have to say it's been good. We could always use a few more bright & shiny new faces over in Alternative OS! ;D

yeh, i hate how the big companies think they can push and shove consumers to buy what they put out, perhaps M$ and a few others dont realize THERE IS a tipping point where consumers WILL SAY NO, just like with gas prices, people will stop buying gas if they cant afford it, its simple ecomnomics, if the consumers dont like a product, they WILL LOOK TO ALTERNATIVES...hopefully.

That bill, and a few organizations need to be struck down, all these people in the organizations are self motivated only looking to boost their careers or line their pockets.
