GideonTech looks at a scenario that could give Opterons the edge in dominating the server market.
One of the most competitive markets in computing is servers, with companies always looking for more efficient processing to accommodate more complex simulations or decrease operating costs. For years, the X86 segment of the server market was controlled by Intel's Xeon offerings, but in recent years, a new contender has emerged, AMD's Opteron. Will the return of the co-processor ensure a victory for Opteron?

    Ahhhh.. once again, my love for the Hyper Transport grows stronger ;)
    Most people don't run applications nearly taxing enough on these functions to require anything more than the CPU's built in ability

    Obviously they've never heard of Folding @ Home :fold: Just imagine that kind of math processing power available.
