FTP Ports? Why won't this work?

I'm running Cerberus FTP under Windows XP.

I want my FTP server to run on port 1337.

I have set up my linksys router to forward ports 20-22, 1336-1338, and 5700-5800.

When I run my FTP on port 21, everything works fine. However, when I run it on port 1337, I can only access it on my LAN.

I'm using ports 5700-5800 for PASV. (although I didn't need to for port 21). Still doesn't work.

Here's my connection log for someone trying to connect from outside my LAN:

Tue Oct 07 14:58:06 2003 0 LIST (at this point, it waits a while)
Tue Oct 07 14:58:26 2003 0 The attempt to connect timed out without establishing a connection
Tue Oct 07 14:58:48 2003 0 The connection was closed by the remote socket.
Tue Oct 07 14:58:48 2003 0 Connection terminated.

What should I do?

those are forwarded, but do you have them going back OUT those ports? If its coming in 1337, being forwarded to port 21 on your machine, does your router need to be configured to take outgoing port 21 data sent to port 1337?

My router forwards port 21 to port 21, port 1337 to port 1337.

I've set Cerberus to use 1337. Works fine on the lan. Internet is another story.

Does anyone know any good Windows FTP software that works?

The client in the sample log is using active FTP behind a firewall/router. Notice that it sent a PORT command to the server and the address is 192,168,1,101 - this is a private address. The client needs to be doing passive FTP (look for the PASV) in the server log.

Try using SmartFTP or BulletProof FTP. Both of these support PASV modes.
