Apple has won a court case brought about against it by Apple Corps, the record label which represents the Beatles. The case stemmed from a permission granted by the music Apple to allow the tech Apple to use the fruit apple likeness in its logo, on the grounds that the tech company would not enter the music business.
The Beatles are high-profile holdouts from Internet music services like iTunes, but it emerged during the trial that Apple Corps is preparing the band's catalog to be sold online for the first time, according to a submission by Neil Aspinall, managing director of Apple Corps and a former Beatles road manager.

"We are glad to put this disagreement behind us," Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs said. "We have always loved the Beatles, and hopefully we can now work together to get them on the iTunes Music Store."

It's ridiculous to think that iTunes/iPod sales would in any way hurt the Beatles' record company. It's not surprising to see a company use a technicality to try to extort money from another, but it's disappointing to see it from Apple Corps.

Beatles record lebel got loads of money from Apple allready, this conflict is a gold mine for this small lebel and I think dates back to early 70's. Since then Apple was taken to court several times and had to pay them money.
