Microsoft has released a critical security update for the Exchange messaging server, and two security updates for Windows. One of the fixes, rated as critical, could allow unauthorized software to be installed without user action.
With the Windows flaws, one was in the version of Adobe Flash Player that comes with the operating system. A problem there could lead to malicious Flash-based Web sites or animated files that could take control of a machine.

Q, what do you do with your patch cd's?

I work with two other Windows techs and we are responsible for over 600 Windows PCs. We use the Patch CD to update PCs. Normally, PCs are automatically patched but we occasionally have PCs that do not patch correctly and need to be visited and patched.

Also... any visitor with a PC must have their PC (laptop) patched to the most current level to be allowed on our network.

Lastly... All new PCs are wiped and installed with our custom slipstreamed Windows XP install and we use the patch CD to finish up the install.
