Windows could not start becouse the following file is missing or
corrupt :
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

You can attemp to repair this file by starting Windows Setup
using the original Setup CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair

I do this. I install Windows Setup disk in to the CD-ROM drive.
I get to the first screen and select "r" to go to the Microsoft Windows XP Recovery Console and i get this.

Windows XP home Edition Setup
==========================
Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.
Make sure any hard disk drives are power on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct .This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program.

Setup cannot continue. To quit setup, press F3.

I have loaded twice with the same results.
I have looked at each drive. The ATA cable on both drives is pluged in to the hard drive and the mainboard and the power cables are hooked up too. I also pulled cables and hooked them back up.
I have looked in the bios. Under Integrated Peripheral/OnBoard PCI Controller To make sure that I have Promise (P20378 S.ATA Controller) Set to the RAID option.
I have looked in the bios. Under Advanced BIOS Features/Boot Sequence/2nd Boot is set too BBS-0(RAID): FT 378 Ary 1
note* The other options BBS-1(Network):MBA UNDI(Bus0 Slot10) and BBS-2(Network):Realtek boot Agent.
I have looked at the FastBuild Utility 2.01 it shows / Array No=Array 1 / RAID=Stripe / Total Drv=2 / Capacity(MB)=148710/ Status=Functional /
I have looked at the Realtek RTL8110S/Gigabit Boot Agent Configuration Menu v1.01 it shows / Network Boot Protocol=PXE / Boot Order=Int 19h / Show Config Message=Enable / Show Massage Time=3 Seconds /
note* Not sure what im looking at.
I have tryed Data Lifegaurd Diagnostic version 5.04f. Ran quick test on the 1st drive it pased. When i run the test on the 2nd drive it freezes the program.
What should i look at next or try?

    You have to load the raid drivers from the floppy when you boot. Watch the Win XP startup options. It says something liek press F6 to load optional storage drivers.

    And you have created the array in the raid bios correct? And this is raid-0? Was it running before or is this the first load of the OS or ???

    When you load the OS to a onboard raid-0 array its alwasys best to unhook the regular ide drive (your 250gb) during the load of the OS so that all the boot files are actually on the raid-0 array. Otherwise it still loads a handful of bootfiles on the first ide drive.

    Again look at the first sentence. When you boot into the recovery console you have to load the drivers by pressing f6. That is most likely why it does not see the drives in recovery console if neither drive has failed in the raid bios.
