Damn PC basically went AWOL. Yesterday I was talking with Mackanz yesterday about flashing the bios of my 9700 NP and he said to check what type of ram I have (Infineon 3.3 ). I disconnect the rig, take out the video card, check the ram and put it back. I didn't change anything else. When I boot into windows, it gives me an error saying that there is a problem with the sound card and that I have to install it again. I reinstall the drivers, reboot and I get a BSOD of IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I get that on every boot. I go to boot to another OS and I get the same error about the soundcard. I try to reinstall the drivers and when I reboot, I get the same BSOD. The sound did work but I just got the error ( /!\ in Device manager). I turn off the pc and decide to take everything out and clean it a bit and organize my desk. I put everything back and I clear the cmos. When I'm gonna boot, the bios doesn't see my 2nd HDD (WD 80GB). I turn off the pc and press the drive cables abit and I see that the fan started spinning for a fraction of I second which is where I think I screwed up. I reboot and it sees the drive but it's booting extremely slow. Like a minute for it to detect the drives. When I get into windows it works fine. It's slow hardware-wise. I reboot but now I get some error after I select with OS I want to boot. A error I've never seen. Forgot to write it down but it was jibberish. Had some lines, words and stuff. Anyway, I disconnect the HDD cables and connect them again. I reboot and get some "ntfs thing is corrupt" error on both OS. I try playing with the cable configuration and nothing. I just leave it at that since I don't have my XP cd with me ;[. I think the HDDs' dead. I try playing with the cables to see if it sees the 2nd HDD. It does but like usual, it's loading slow.
Today I'm observing the IDE cable and it looks like the connector got lose from the actual cable. I put in the 2nd cable I had (for the cdrom and 3rd HDD) and I installed a 3-4 month old image. I still got the same ntfs error. I hit F8 while in the OS selection screen and I select the option where it boots up in the last known configuration. And now it boots and it installs all the new hardware and I'm currently here posting. Machine stilll boots damn slow but I haven't tried playing with the drives again. What did I do wrong?
Sorry for bad grammer, cause I'm not used to writing paragraphs ;[

Perhaps you electrostatic discharge-killed your RAM?
The video card is working fine.
I think the problem went away but I still don't know what caused it...
