Anyone NOT use Windows Built-in Wireless?

Just curious who doesn't use the built-in windows wireless utilty and if you could, name what you do use and what is your network card brand and model?

I am working on an interactive interface to help our helpdesk team walk guests through their connection setup, too many utilities out there and I hope to eventually get full screenshots and clickability from it with extra information. Maybe publish it even to help others, on S-M? ;)

On my IBM laptop, I use the IBM Access Connections software. It's actually quite nice.

Think you could put up some screenshots of the interface, such how you would view available networks, refresh the list, does it require you to setup a profile before it connects or will it allow you to connect without configuring it... I could give your my email address if you wouldn't mind sending me a screenshot of the pages ;)

I use the NetGear WG311T SmartWizard.

It's very easy to use, and when the windows wireless zero config started flaking out on me, I switched to the netgear one and it has never failed me since.

There's only four tabs: Settings, Networks, Statistics, and About. Here they are, do whatever you want with them :)

I'll get those IBM screenshots and answers next time I'm on my laptop. Hopefully I can do that tomorrow at work. :)

Well, this may not be completely off topic... but since we're talking about wireless programs, perhaps someone can help you.

At school, we've got a ton of wireless access points. They all have the same SSID (different MACs of course) and broadcast on a variety of channels.

At times, I'm in the center of two or more access points. My wireless card (internal built into my dell laptop) will start flip flopping through them since they vary in strength at any given moment.

Will any of these wireless utilities solve my problems and woes?

    Thanks.

Sorry it took so long. Mine does not require that a profile be created. Once you find a network and successfully connect to it, it asks you if you'd like to save the profile.
