Maximum Memory for Sony Vaio

I have a Sony Vaio PCG-FXA35/d (shown on a sticker on the front) model no. on the back says PCG-975L. I'm trying to figure out the maximum amount of RAM I can put into this thing, but all the manual lists is typical configurations ranging from 128mb to 512mb. I'm not sure if they ever thought someone would want more than 512mb when they designed it or if that's just the maximum supported. Tried searching google but havent come up with anything useful. Any help is appreciated.
