questions about adding new hard drive

my computer went into the shop for a new hard drive they were supose to have added a 40 gig my computer came back and windows was not working correcly i did check and c drive said it was 40 gig. but it had to go back to the shop and get widows 98 se reinstalled. thing is now it says it has a 15.8 gig hard drive. excuse the shop gave is its and older computer and that it will only recognize the 15.8 but before it went to the shop it had 25 gig. what can be causing this?

    sounds like some 1 at the shop dosnt know what they are talking about. Win98 should have a max HDD limit of 134 gigs. i belive disk managment is in 98 as well somewhere. ill have to look it up.

    this is another strange thing when i click on the my computer it gives the hard drive as 15.8 but when i go to start>programs>accessories>systemstool>drivespace double click on drive c it says its a 2 gig hard drive the same as my d drive

    this just keeps getting worse and worse
