HDD problem
First of all hello Im a noob here.
I am hoping to find some help with my hdd
Its a Western digital 40 GB
My problem is that it has gone bananas on me
I want to install an os on it (Ihave had xp on it in the past) but no os will install (the installation just hangs very early on whilst loading files)
I tried restoring it via a norton ghost image I had made a few months ago, but altho the image was restored ok it will not boot (it get to the windows logo with the blue line and just hangs)
I have used the Western Digital diagnostic tool and it reports the disk as having no problems (the only test it fails is smart disk) which my other disk also fails.
Whilst in the windows enviroment the disk acts fine as a slave drive.
But when I switch it to primary and disable the other one it will not boot.
Any help or suggestions would be much apprieciated.
