Perhaps you can force the proper drivers to be installed if you..

    1. Right click on my computer
    2. Hit properties.
    3. Click "Hardware"
    4. Click "Device manager"
    5. Find your Zen in the list
    6. Right click it
    7. Hit properties
    8. Hit update driver
    9. Select "Install from a list or a specific location"
    10. Uncheck all boxes except "Include this location in the search"
    11. Type c:\windows\inf -OR- c:\winnt\inf
    12. Hit next.

Try replacing step 11 with the following folders if neither of those work:
    c:\windows\system32
    c:\winnt\system32
    c:\windows\system32\drivers
    c:\winnt\system32\drivers

If none of those work, we have bigger problems.

    :sad2: Thanks matey,

Done that, it does instal..but only as a portable device to be recognised with WMP 10. I cant pick it up on 'My Computer'..because the pc wont pick it up..i cannot install the ZEN software..which with the Drop Drag feature is one of the reasons i bought it.

The 1st time i tried the firmware update..it was mine it went wrong on..it just froze..i mean for ages..(after seeing my Mums pc sort it in 3 mins) mine was obviously going nowhere. Right, now before that happened..it picked it up in My Computer..did all Mums pc would do..but the firmware was an advised procedure..now its all gone up the spout!!! Grrr.

I'm gonna check the Main post forum..i see i had a reply there and try that, If i get it to go i will post here saying so...otherwise please, if you have any other ideas...i shall venture into a full un-install..drivers-progs-registry (inc usins 'show hidden folders') see how i go.....
