Refresh rate fix for Dell 2005FPW

I did the refresh rate tweak according to the [H] Fourms, and it took according to my monitors OSD... I am currently running 1680x1050 @ 75Hz. But does it actually make a difference? HELL NO.

I guess it is true LCD's don't matter with refresh rates as much as LCD's?:range:

Still, I feel like I just overclocked my monitor... I guess that's an accomplishment

Refresh rates don't matter at all. Why?

Because a refresh rate refers to the frequency at which an electron gun can repaint an image on the screen of a CRT. Obviously, LCDs have no electron guns, and can not therefore be affected by a refresh rate.

    Response time is it.

This is how I figured it, but why have it at all then?

It'd be silly to program two sets of drivers, or even extra code to disable the refresh rate feature in a driver cpl on an LCD. Since you can't help or harm by setting the refresh, might as well leave it and save time.

But an LCD usually only has one setting, as a CRT has many, that is why your Hertz rate won't effect a monitor. I think anything above 60 is pointless....
