Need help... recovering from virus..
I just got rid of a nasty Smit Fraud virus. The system seems to be clean. But during the infection, the desktop was changed. The system is still running extremely slow.. chugging.
In addition, I've noticed a 2nd Windows folder called Windows.1 and it seems that system is booting and working off this folder.
So i obviously still have some problems. I've attached a fresh HijackThis log along with the HJT startup log.
Notes... it seems there are no restore points available.
System was cleaned using various antivirus and spyware detection software. The Smitfraud cleaning tools were also used and the latest scans show no smitfraud activity. Windows defender was used, Xoftspy, Fix Utilities, Norton.
Can anyone here please review the files and help me to restore this system.
