Ok here is my system config and I noticed that there is this process that is running/loading but its blank.

How can I find out what it is or just get rid of it.

I did find a trojan that I posted about in a different thread and supposedly it was gotten rid of. I have done a repair install of XP Pro, I have scanned my system with up to date versions of pest patrol, spy bot, and Norton AV both in safe mode and regular mode... At this point it seems that the system is ok but then I see this...?

I want to try everything that I can before I do a "do over"...

Thanks for the help,

i have 2 of those. a repair install keeps your registry intact, so it wouldn't make sense for it to clear the list of startup programs, as they are ALSO stored in the registry. if you can find out what that is though, it'd be nice

Have you actually checked the registry to make sure a weird key isn't in there?

    Black Hawk said
    Registry Cleaner

Is that a program or one of several?

If its one of several which one is the best?

I have used a few back in the day but they always seemed to delete regestry files that windows needed which ended up screwing up things worse....

Oh and A2J yes, I did check the registery. There isn't anything there that is visibale to me on the screen.
Must be invisibale to the system some how...

I was able to find and account for every startup process in the registery except that one...

    http://atomnet.co.uk/?p=programs&search=start - Is better.

You can delete that entry because it isnt running, infact it isnt doing anything because there is no command there. It's just like not typing anything at a command prompt and pressing enter.

Ok I tried the progy that ns737 listed and it wasn't listed...
So I enabled it. It still wasn't listed but I noticed that as soon as I did enable it, something stopped my blackice (my firewall) process, so I definately think that its a bug of some kind... I'll leave it unchecked for now and some day when I 'm ready I'll fdisk that sucker... geeky would like that... lol It would be great if I could find a way to get rid if it with out reinstalling though... :(
