Help setting up an office network?

Hey I've setup lots of home networks. Well my dad got me a job helping a guy setup his network in his office.

Apparenetly his desktops worked on it, but his new laptops don't.

I wasn't clear if he is setting up a normal network or if he's trying to setup a intranet for his employees to dial into.

He has a server on windows, thats about all he knows (not very computer knowledgable).


Anyways my question is, since this is a little bigger than what I normally do. Do you guys know of any good websites for me to readup on, or to help me troubleshot?

You are best of going to the place in question and seeing what works and what doesn't first. Then ask what he wants and getting him to specify it as specifically as possible.
