matlab help..strange problem

hi I am using matlab7..i m encounterinf a strange problem.I am calculating a particluar quantity inside a for loop(which is ranging from 10^-1 to 10^-7).As long as i do just that,its working fine,but when i add all these using the same or another variable..it starts giving me complex NaN numbers(like NaN+NaNi)..does neone has ne idea what the problem could be??
