Straight from Computex 2006 Hitachi is showing off its new 750GB 3.5" disk along side their new small 1.8" form factor laptop drive. The new 1.8" disk will be released with 20GB, 40GB, 60GB and 80GB at 4200rpm speeds.
The big one is a new 750GB version of the older 500GB range, and it's introduction should come as a shock to no one paying attention. The spec sheets we were given are all in Chinese, a language I don't speak, and do not mention the 750GB, nor can I find any mention of it on the Hitachi web page. The booth staff were adamant that this was a mechanical sample of the soon-to-be-launched 750 variant.
