Reminance of Netster toolbar.
So I caught a lovely computer STD last night and didn't realize it til this morning.
Netster Toolbar was the most evident culprit; also an isntallation of a program purporting to be a spyware removal agent called 'Kill and Destroy' or something like that. Managed to get rid of both toolbar and 'spyware remover,' however, a hijacker seems to be lingering; when I search for anything on Google and click on a link, I'm redirected to a multitude of amusingly named websites instead of the actual result.
Ran Spybot and Adaware; both came up with goodies which I deleted. Re-ran and got clean bills of health. Ran Symantec to no avail; turned that off and ran PandaScan online as well as BitDefender. Clean bills. Made sure my Spyware Blaster was up-to-date. So... maybe you see something I'm not.
