I had a p4 1.7 (423) with this hard drive i updated to a p4 3.0 775 with an Asus p5wd2 premium.

At first i just tried to put my system here, but it keep restarting.. then i tried to put windows xp but it throwed me an STOP msg, I was told to put a win 64bits, I formatted the system partition and put the win64 still the stop msg came up

I´ve been reading about this error 0x07B but nothing is exactly my problem. So far I´m getting to the point that is some controller incompatibility or something like that..

I really need to use the computer to work and it´s been a week now with this...

here is the msg I got:

Check for viruses on your computer. remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. run chkdsk /f to check for hard drive corruption and then restart your computer STOP 0x0000007b (0xfffffadff28323c0, 0xffffffffc0000034, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

I will apreciatte any help, I scanned the integrity of the HD and it´s perfect. I won´t format the hole disk until i try all posibilities

I only got fron Western Digital a Data Lifeguard Diagnostics and Tools I´m trying that today but I think there should be a driver/controller to use during the first steps of the windows cd, i´m not sure this will help

Please answer: anyone having the same problem, anyone knowing where to get a controller update, anyone having any solution :)

Thanks
