One of the most anticipated events at the Computex Taipei exhibition is the “Best Choice Awards”. Although only in it’s fifth year of existence, it has drawn entries for 408 products. These are sorted into 11 categories and only 21 winners are chosen.
BenQ came out the biggest winner having won 3 awards in different categories for their EF81 mobile phone, CP120 digital projector and their Azteca 516 navigational and multimedia car PC. The Car Electronics Products was a new category in this year’s Best Choice Awards.

Another winner in the motherboard category was Micro-Star for their K8N Diamond Plus.
Other winners include Dexin Corporation for a very innovative 5-button no lens, laser mouse known as the ML45H-P. It has the ability to work on Glass and mirrored surfaces!
Realtek won for their High Definition Audio Codec(ALC888 Telecom)
The winning factors include the chip’s ability to integrate high quality Audio, VoIP and PSTN into PC as well as Dolby, dts, STS and BBE surround effect.
Other winning innovations include a personal storage disc, 3 mega pixel portable document camera, and a dual mode mobile phone that can automatically scan, configure, and switch between GSM network and 802.11b WLAN network.
If these are just some of the products that are being showcased on the first day of the event, this year’s exhibition should prove to be a blockbuster event.
