Where can I find where emails are stored on outlook 2000?

I need to move emails from express 2000 on a desktop to a laptop with express 2000.

The server it downloads from deletes the server copy of the email once you download. So I can't just connect and get all the emails.

Also can I go from 2000 to express and the other way around?

do a search for .dbx files, it's one of them. Should be in c:\documents and settings\username\application data somewhere. I *think* you can just copy the file and then copy it over the one on the target machine but don't quote me on that. To go from express to outlook (which is what I think you meant) you need to do an export from express into outlook. This converts the data file to a .PST, which is the format outlook uses. I don't think there's any way to go outlook->express although again, I'm not 100% sure on that.

Straight Outlook (not Outlook Express) stores everything as a PST file. Usually called "outlook.pst" by default. Email, Contacts, Calendar are all in the pst file. It can be found here...
    C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

On the new system, I suggest importing the data file...
