Can anyone tell me actually how much storage you have with 6 drives in Raid 5? I'm just wondering is it 4 storage and 2 mirror, or 3 storage with 3 mirror? Any help is appreciated.

Take approximately 20% off the top of each drive.
for example 6x100gb drive = 600gb theoretical capacity. Take 120gb off for the parity information and you have an array with 480gb.
approximately.

its total storage - max capacity of 1 of the hard drives for parity
3 X 300 gig drives = 900gigs,
in raid 5: 3 X 300 gigs - 300gigs = 600gigs
5 250s = 1TB, riad 5: 5 X 250 - 250 = 750gigs
