Opera Software has released Opera 9, its latest Web browser for PCs. It is available in more than 25 languages for Windows, Mac, Linux and other platforms.

You can get the browser directly from Opera's site as a free download.
New features have been added such as a built in anti-phishing toolbar, integrated bittorrenting, which does away with the need to install a torrent client and the usual features such as tabbed browsing.
"For Opera 9, we worked hard to push the limits of what people expect from a Web browser, with increased speed, new Web standards support and innovative features such as widgets and BitTorrent," said Jon S. von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. "Even though we shaped this browser for the Web’s future, we have the powerful features people want and need for their surfing today. I truly feel Opera 9 has something for everyone."

I'm in heaven with the mouse gestures, the largest selling point for me. I may actually switch from FF for that reason alone, unless I can find a plugin for firefox that will do the same thing. I've been waiting for something like that for sooooo long.

Were Firefox and IE6.0 failed to download the Windows Vista 64 bit beta2 iso file, Opera just did it. :p

IE6.0 (XP pro) only downloaded ~14 KB ...., no wonder why MS needs another download mananger !

FF failed at less then 1% to download (after ~2.1 hours of downloading :p ).
Don't know which side to blame, Microsoft or Firefox.

I started using Opera 4 a long time ago, and was huge on it during 6. Then I got Firefox, and now I am going back to Opera. I forgot how cool it was.
