Problems with display settings

can anybody help sort the resolution on my sons computer. the background looks faded and the settings will not change. we have tried to change this in safe mode too but no luck. anyone got any ideas????

    What Video Card do you have? It sounds like it's using the generic Windows driver. :)

    Please post what screen res you using "1280 x 1024?, 1600 x 1200?" and what bit rate you are using. 8bit, 16 bit, 32 bit?

    we have managed to sort now, we went into devices manager and did a rollback and this returned the screen to normal
