Inspiron 5100 overheating
I think many of us know that the Inspiron 5100's with the 2.4 GHz P4 (not Pent M) have a habit of overheating. I bought one from a client for $100, thought I'd clean out the cooling system and have a happy computer to sell on eBay.
Wrong.
I had the thing sitting on a counter with the dumb, designed fan intake haging out over the counter while it did a virus scan. It ran slower and slower till it shut itself off.
Anyone know, is there a fix for these or did I just throw away $100?
