[Solved]Please please help!!!!
Hi, all. this is my first post on this site. The site looks really helpful and i hope someone can help me with my problem.
although it may be too late, i would appreciate any insight. I have been battling malware for 3 days now. I have tried alot of stuff and have gone from like 50 infected files to about 10. At this point I think look2me is the only thing left, but its a tough little sucker. I followed Troogan's thread about what to do before posting a hijackthis log. I have also followed various things from norton, dell forums, and googling stuff and the scans are still pulling up files in the system32 folder that seem to keep regenerating, as well as the pop ups. The other problem is that "a little knowledge can be dangerous" and this is very true in my case, as I will just delete files, go into the registry and mess with stuff, as well as use hijack this to delete files even after being warned!!!! All of which I have already done. I just like to exhaust every avenue before asking for help, but now i really need help. Ok, so concerning hijack this, i found another resourse that parses the log and helps people like me figure out what is what. Hopefully nobody gets offended, as there is no advertisemnet here, but the website is http://hjt.networktechs.com
I also used that in conjunction with spywareshooter's database and went to work on my log.....after i have already downloaded all the lavasoft adware se, spybot s&d, i have norton although it expired a few months ago, windows defender, various online stuff, etc. I may have deleted some stuff, (also out of frustration) but if anyone can review this hijack log and let me know if there is anything left to do? PLEASE HELP? I keep seeing the .dll files like the one below (e.g. O20 - Winlogon Notify: CSCSettings - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ir4ol5h31.dll) i fix it in hijack this, but it keeps coming back as some other random .dll.

Please do the following:
Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:
http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe
Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.
IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!
If you receive, while running option #1, an error similar to: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. Choose close to terminate the application.."...then please use option 5 or the web page link in the l2mfix folder to solve this error condition. Do not run the fix portion without fixing this first.

Close any browsers and programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.
From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter. It will process then start. Your desktop and icons will disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, it will be ready for a reboot. Press any key to reboot. After the reboot notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.
IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!
If after the reboot the log does not open double click on it in the l2mfix folder.

Just a few things left to do.
1. Do you use PartyPoker? If not, please uninstall it through Add/Remove programs.
2. Enable everything on startup, and then post a new HJT log so I can see if there is anything more that shouldn't be there.
umm, i use party all the time.
when you say enable everything on startup, you mean in the startup tab of msconfig?
the only thing there is ccApp, adobe speed launcher, ms office, quickbooks update.
one thing i did notice is that in msconfig general tab the button is now Normal starup. It used to be under selective startup. should i chnage that?
and also everytime i reboot my it removes the quick launch on my taskbar. Is that because i have system restore disabled? should i enable system restore?

=====
If everything is back to normal, great!
Thats fine!
Yep!
OK!
If it was on Selective Startup before, than change it back. Mine is on that too.
First thing, enable System Restore. It is important to have a restore point if something ever goes wrong. Secondly, I'm not sure why that is, but I don't think its to do with System Restore.
=====
Let me know if I can help you with anything else or if we can mark this resolved?
thanks again, and again, again, x 1,000,000!!!
