Maxtor Ships Highest Capacity SATA Drives in Retail

Hard Disk Drive Giant Pairs Industry-Leading Capacity with Next Generation Interface

MILPITAS, Calif., June 11, 2003 - Maxtor Corporation (NYSE: MXO), a worldwide leader in hard disk drives, today announced the company has been shipping 120GB and 80GB Serial ATA (SATA) Ultra™ Series hard drive kits to select retail stores. Maxtor 250GB and 200GB SATA Ultra Series kits will be available on retail shelves mid-June.

    It's a pitty those drives are not 10,000rpm instead of 7200rpm.

    The hdds do not have near the max bandwidth of SATA cables. They couldnt fill ATA100 so whats the big deal.

    The price of the 10K 36GB Raptors are dropping, that telsl you a higher capacity drive is coming......
