how to format IBM laptop

hello. i just want to know how to format a ibm laptop? is there any difference on formatting a PC?

    nope, none at all, if you are doing a clean install, it will usually give you an option to format the hdd, or you can use a utility that you boot to.

    Make sure you find the chipset drivers for the laptop, thats usually where the problems come in. Windows generally won't have the right driver for the sound, video, or ethernet. Go to IBMs website, download them, and then put them on a CD for after the OS is installed. If IBM doesn't have it, take note of the drivers in the system info area of your control panel and get the drivers off of the manufacturer's websites.
