Problem with DVR-108
Hey there...this is my first post here, so hello to all of yas.
To the meat!
I have a Pioneer DVR-108 in my system, master IDE, firmware 1.20 (which I believe is the latest).
It's been giving me an odd problem lately - if I try to burn any image, be it iso, bin/cue, mdf....No problems whatsoever. CD or DVD, it'll burn em all in record time.
However, as soon as I try to burn a data DVD (by picking files individually as opposed to an iso) or a data CD, it'll complete just fine without any error message but I end up with a coaster anyway. Same goes for Audio cds.
I burn with Nero 6.6.0.6 - I've also attempted using Windows' built-in burning software (yes...I know, I was just curious) and it also fails to complete, with a typically useless, Windows XP, stupid-neighbour like error message. ("Oh hey! I couldn't burn your CD, and I totally trashed it. But would ya like me to hold onto these files for ya in case we try again later? Hyuk!")
I've tested with Fuji discs (usually ultra-reliable for me), Memorex, Maxwell, Verbatim and a bunch of hokey brands my friend had lying around. Can't remember their names...very generic discs - out of curiousity.
Anyway, this sort of has me mystified...so if any of you guys have an idea, I'd appreciate it.
