partition problem

My hard drive is divided into 6 partitions 24.8 GB each I now find that my C drive is running out of space. Can I join D drive to C to make the space bigger? With out uninstalling all the programmes? Do’s anyone know a easy way around this problem, taking into account that I’m no computer wiz kid when it comes to computers??
