Silicon 3112 Sata pci card BIOS updating?

edited July 2006 in Hardware
Hi,
I,m currently running a pci card which provides 2 x sata150 ports, on my gigabyte ga 7vn (i think) motherboard (amd xp 2200gig), i have two identical 80gig drives running from it currently one has my copy of xp the other is used as storage. . .
I have been looking into setting up a raid array (raid 1) across both drives. Although i donot appear to have this function on the card. According to the silicon images website it appears that i can flash the bios to allow it to handle raid arrays. However the instructions given say you should flash it via the control panel (seems a bit strange especially when xp is running from it), but each time i do this it comes up with an error message, and does not continue. . . I would like to know if it is indeed possible to flash the bios on the card to allow for raid, and also any tips / methods to do this .

Many thanks to any one who reads this and especially if you reply
