This may be a newbie type question, but when I try to play a DVD there is no sound. The default player is Windows Mediaplayer and I have the latest version. I can play music, games and guitar using the computer so the card is working properly. Any suggestions?

In WMP, go to Tools>>Options>>DVD>>Advanced and see if changing any of the settings and/or levels there makes a difference.

Do audio CD's work in the drive?

Going into Advanced, there are no audio options checked and when I try to do that, I can't Apply the settings so they don't stay checked. Audio CDs work in the drive.....

    Try downloading AC3Filter.

It's just a codec to decode AC3 audio streams, which is the audio format used by DVDs. It sounds like you have a broken install of WMP.

Try installing Media Player Classic, and play the DVD with that.

Try redownloading and reinstalling the WMP package.
