boot cd

I have a copy of xp home that will not activate after reinstall on my laptop.
Microsoft states I need to buy a new copy or another license. I dont want to put any money in the laptop as it is old. I have a copy of windows 98 and I want to install that, but it will not, of course write over xp. Can anyone help me find a 98se boot cd? I don't have a floppy drive.

    Just out of curiosity, exactly how old is this laptop? Post the system specifications; it may not even be up to running XP. In that case, you may want to stick with 98. On my old laptop, I am running Ubuntu for this reason. Something to consider.
