Pc Might Be Fried!!!!!

ok i was installing a fresh copy of windows xp home edition and now every time i try and turn on my computer it will load normally but when it trys to load the screen were i type in my password it is just a black screen but my pc is still on and so is my monitor, i need a quick fix SO REPLY FAST PLZ!!!!! :hitit2:

    If it's fresh, I'd try again and see what happens... I doubt your computer is fried though.

    yea I doubt your pc is fried.....cpu or gpu at least. I mean its always a possability that your heatsink broke or something.

    doesnt sound like its a cpu problem...itcould be
    RAM, Harddrive, or PSU related
    i would install it again and see what happens...you should find the manufacturer of ur hd and run some diagnostic tests

    Windows is damaged or you might have a dead harddrive (Assuming that you post and when you normaly have to login you get a black screen)

    Do a repair install if that fails then you will have to run harddrive dignostic software (If you have a western digital click here for dignostic software.)

    ok now my pc is doing something even more annoying instead of loading it just keeps restarting over and over.

    Reinstall (Or do a repair install) windows its corrupt.

    Also run your harddrive manufactuers dignostic software.

    Download Memtrst 86 to a different computer and then run it on your machine. It could even just be that you are running the memory timings at an unacceptable setting. I agree that the PSU should be checked as well. But in any case Windows will still need to be reinstalled or repair installed.
