According to sources Asustek has been making Sony's PS3 for almost 3 weeks now, with an expected 200,000 unit shipment by the end of the month. From the looks of it Sony is more on the ball than we thought with there new super gaming console.
The Commercial Times reports that manufacturer Asustek Computer has been producing machines since the start of the month, and that Sony is set to receive a shipment of 200,000 machines by the end of July. More manufacturers are set to deliver shipments in August.

It seems highly likely that Sony would want to begin PS3 production as early as possible, in order to deal with any problems which may occur quickly. However, the company has yet to confirm or deny the Commercial Times' claims.
Hopefully the PS3 will ship with little to no issues in the first round. Well so Sony hopes...

Bahh! Nintendo's Wii can go Wii Wii Wii all the way home... Graphics are not intense enough for me. Need high end gaming on a PS3 ~woot~

The interesting part is that aside form all the rumors it seems fully functioning working models are poring out of Asustek. SO the BR players and Cell Proc's must be working...

Im not excited over consoles any more. The only one that might interest me is Wii, and only because of the gameplay.

I am really excited about the PS3, even more when I get the money to pay for it. I just hope they continue to make DDR games. Does anyone know about this? Can you use pads from PS2?

Even more appropriately, the official in charge of Ps3 production says PS3 production hasn't started.

It makes me wonder... the ones ASUS are making could be just trial machines for the gaming developers and for testing... and they could be referring to the final builds now.
