Problem With Laptop Screen If Bumped Or Moved

The problem I'm having is with a Compaq Presario 1720US. After it turns on, if I move the screen, it either goes all black or I see nothing but color blocks, not like tetris but more like I'm assuming there's something wrong with the screen. Would replacing the screen solve this problem or do I face a greater problem?
