Well, I got home late last night after watching the Cubs game... SM19 is turned off??? The battery backup is running and my other PC is running, but not SM19??? No biggie, just push the button..... &#60click>........... hmmmmmm...... &#60click>........... &#60click>&#60click>&#60click>&#60click>&#60click>&#60click>&#60click>&#60click>&#60click>&#60click>.....

OK.... Check power cord, check cables.... seems fine.... &#60click>&#60click>&#60click>.... Grrrrrrrrr. Swap power cord??? Still nothing.... QCH2002 looks at clock... 11:00PM. 5:30AM is only a few hours away....

I will look into the power issue again tonight when I get home from Work. Quick though, I think this Motherboard was RMA'ed before it was donated.... What was wrong with it the first time and do you think it is the same board that was sent in? I think the board was from Gnomewizardd.

I just replace the Power supply with a used one that was from my server. It was only used for a few months prior to going into SM19. That seems suspicious to have 2 Power supplies crap out in less than 30 days???

It's officall.... Power Supply is dead. Seems like SM19's Orginal Power Supply lasted 2 weeks until it suddenly stopped. I swapped it with an Antex 400W Switching Power Supply (I thought it was an Enermax). So, I'll buy a cheap $25 power supply and see how long it lasts unless GHoosdum can enlighten us with the Motherboard...

Maybe you have dirty power at your location... You should consider a line filter or a cheapy UPS (forget the uptime rating - just get one so that you have clean power) .. I buy cheap belkin UPSs from office depot for like $40 -- they give crappy 5 minute battery backup but I don't care - I use them for power filters.

It is on a battery backup/ UPS. And my other PC hasn't crashed (I checked the logs). I tested the Power supply by itself and no power.

Well... SM19 is still up and running. She has a 2500 WU reight now and that seems to be putting her through a bit of a fuss. She should be done soon. She was at 2100 last night, so I hope she'll be done by 10:00 or 11:00 this morning.

//edit..... She turned in one at 6:06 this morning. WOOT!!!!

Uh, yeah; the case/PSU was me... so I guess the first PSU failure was my fault. You want another?

Rob, My Power supply died too and it was a good one. I think something else is the problem. I think the MoBo is drawing to much power or something. Two power supplies in less than a month??? I put in a cheap PSU. If if dies, then I know something is seriously wrong with the system.

It might be worthwhile to take the whole shebang apart and reassemble it, paying special attention to grounding issues. You might have something feeding back (or arcing) causing an overload on the PS.

    Good Luck!
