I am getting a message when I start my PC. A box that says windows cannot run mswavedll.exe, Check it's installed or delete the referance from the registry.
I don't know what it is or does but I have found it. Can I delete this file? Does anybody know what it is?
The full path is - HKEY CURRENT USER \software\microsoft\windows\windowsNT\current version\windows

bothered.

i can't find it onn my system, and I couldn't find any reference to it on google either. probably some leftover from when you had that spyware/adware trouble.

btw, not found on microsoft.com either

    Cheers Kanezfan
Can I assume it's safe to delete it then?

I wouldn't say it's safe but may be something you're using on your system. Is this the same machine that had the other error? If so you may need to run memtest86. If your memory checks out OK then I would consider a "Repair" install.

    Edit:

Hows your PSU? It could be getting flakey too.

No it's not the same PC. This started after I nstalled my new MX700 mouse. To get it working I had to delete some intellimouse stuff. It may be related to that.

    bothered.
